A 40-year-old supermarket worker who suffered a fatal heart attack drank as many as four cans of Red Bull energy drink each night.

Pathologist Dr. Ian Roberts said this week Alfredo Duran, 40, of Wheatley in Oxford, England, had an enlarged heart and the excessive caffeine he consumed each day may have contributed to his death.

"My feeling is — given the evidence available — it was a cardiac arrest possibly contributed to by subtoxic caffeine ingestion," Roberts told the Daily Mail.

Each can of Red Bull is said to contain 80mg of caffeine — about the same amount as a cup of coffee.
Duran collapsed at the end of his nightly shift at Asda supermarket in September 2006 and could not be revived by workers.

The singer was again seen with what appeared to be a marijuana joint while on another bender last night.

Looking worse than ever, a bedraggled Amy was seen at pub The Good Mixer in Camden with the apparent joint in hand, as she stood by a pool table.
Amy was at the pub with various hangers on and a member of jailed Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty's band, Mick Whitnall.

Amy and Mick were seen leaving the pub arm-in-arm, which surely will do little to allay husband Blake's fears that she might be set to give up on their marriage.

The singer, 24, failed to send a card to or visit Blake Civil Fielder in Pentonville Prison when he turned 26 last week and according to friends she is now living as a "single woman".

Unfortunately Amy is so far gone, that when she truly is gone know one will notice.

"She licked cake from his face as everyone cheered them on. It was quite a spectacle," says one club insider. "But they looked really happy together. Jessica had blue icing all over her hands and mouth and Tony was laughing."

That will be all the singing we'll see from Jessica. She can go back into relationship oblivion until football season starts up again.

NEW YORK — A time-lapse video of a man trapped in an elevator for 41 hours has become something of an Internet sensation after surveillance camera footage emerged of the event which occurred nearly a decade ago.

"After a certain period of time I knew that I was in pretty big trouble because it was the weekend," Nicholas White said Monday on ABC-TV's "Good Morning America."

Video of his Oct. 15, 1999, ordeal in an elevator in New York's McGraw-Hill building was posted online to accompany an article in the April 21 edition of The New Yorker.

It can be seen on the magazine's Web site and had been viewed more than 280,000 times on YouTube by Monday morning.
White said he understood why the video has captured people's attention: So many have wondered what they would do if it happened to them.

Edited to a soundtrack of classical piano music, the video shows him pacing, trying to climb the walls, lying down, curled up in a fetal position, prying apart the doors. (He said he relieved himself down the shaft when the doors were open.)
White sued the managers of the midtown skycraper and the elevator maintenance company and won an undisclosed settlement.

He was a production manager for Business Week when he left his office about 11 p.m. Friday for a cigarette break.

According to the article, it was never determined exactly why the elevator stalled though there was talk of a voltage dip.

Not so long ago she declared that she was done with bikinis.
Never again, Elizabeth Hurley said, would she sit eating lunch on a boat in a skimpy two-piece.

The same went for tripping around the beach in a bikini top and skirt with her midriff showing.

But as these pictures indicate, Miss Hurley will relax the rules under certain conditions.
Firstly, it must be in her best business interests, such as helping to launch a series of her own swimwear designs in a diffusion range for the High Street store Mango.

And there must - read must - be an airbrush involved.

In an interview to accompany these photographs in the Sunday Times Style magazine, the model and businesswoman conceded that "shooting bikinis is now my life".

She said: "I can't think of anything worse in the world than another bikini shoot - and I've got two next month.
"It's unbearable and I bring it all on myself. I've got nobody else to blame."

But, she revealed, she now relies on "nice photographers" and a little digital enhancement.

"I like a certain amount of retouching like anybody," she admitted.

Even if they have been airbrushed a little, the photos suggest that Miss Hurley, 42, has made good on her promise to "go to ground and annoy everyone by emerging thinner, sexier and mentally cleansed".

She made that vow in an interview in 2005, at the same time as she spoke of instituting her bikini ban.
Miss Hurley, a mother of one, revealed that when she looked in the mirror she saw "a person who eats too much junk food and doesn't exercise. That has sadly become my reality over the past year".

Commenting on one of her own designs for Elizabeth Hurley Beach, she said her days of wearing a towelling miniskirt, bikini top and flip-flops were over.

"I don't feel comfortable doing that any more," she said. "As the years go by you do feel less confident about your body."

Miss Hurley is not afraid to follow strict diets when she needs to drop weight fast.

Her regime after the birth of son Damian, now six, was punishing, she said at the time.

"I did it by eating very little breakfast and not too much lunch.

"And only boring snacks such as a banana or six raisins. The only meal I have is dinner."

She lost four stone, and was back in her trademark white jeans within three months of Damian's birth.
