Last week, there were rumors that Dell was planning a music player to rival the iPod to reinvigorate its consumer products, but those rumors have since been quelled . On Monday, the Dell blog states clearly that a music player will not be part of their long-term plans to reach consumers.

"As we said a few months ago, our strategy focuses on content offerings and delivery platforms that mix Zing software, remote access and pre-configured media bundles across all of our devices, including licensing agreements with entertainment distributors," said the post. "It has never been about a music player."

So for now, don't expect Dell to jump into the music game. Apple still has that market and will probably dominate the music market with their slick music products for years to come.

Decemberists have a new album titled, Always The Bridesmaid: Vol. III A-side - here's the "Raincoat Song". It's all starting to sound the same for us really, kind of like, when you're a kid and you go into an antique shop and it all smells equally old and dusty. It's hard to tell one time period from the next. They've driven the point, and we'd personally like to hear something fresh, maybe an addition of a more modern instrument?

If you're a big Decemberists fan, you'll love it, cause it's got all the elements, without the evolution.

We just saw one of our favorite spirited - old bands last week live, when Weezer came through Houston. Rivers put on an oddball show for his fans that know what to expect from the cerebral rocker. We've really enjoyed the Red Album and are happy to hear that "I Want to Take You Home Tonight" will be added to his collection of solo demos, Alone 2: The Home Recordings, which will be out 11/25 on Universal.

Beck - Gamma Ray

New Beck video “Gamma Ray Redux”, directed by Jess Holzworth. The 60’s inspired video is featuring the once blacklisted actress and pop/style icon Chloe Sevigny.

Natasha, the girl that introduces the video is a Beck fan that won the Myspace contest, where she will be interviewing Beck and shooting his show on November 9th at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles for the ‘Beckumentary’… coming in the next few weeks.

The cool, lovely Roisin Murphy played her first U.S show in NYC, at Manhattan’s Mansion nightclub, which was formerly Crobar. Roisin tells Arjanwrites that she was a little hesitant to play to a U.S. crowd, uncertain of the turnout, but was pleasantly surprised to find that hundreds of fans turned out to a soldout show.

We’ve followed Roisin over the past several years and she is a master at on-stage performance, evidenced here in her performance of “Overpowered”.

She plans to return to the U.S. after her European tour and will be joining SXSW in Austin, as well as dates in Atlanta, San Francisco and L.A. in March.

Leslie Feist just announced she was going to take a break after a whirlwind of success. She leaves us with this Anthony Seck directed this video “Honey, Honey,” off of her “Reminder” album.

Lindsay Lohan’s long waited third studio album will be available in November! Can you believe she continues to put these crappers out, year after year? Her new album will be called “Spirit In The Dark”, featuring songs produced by Pharrell Williams, Akon, StarGate and Bloodshy & Avant.

The first release as "Bossy", but that was just a teaser to our palletes ready for the real pile.

Her first single will be "Playground" featuring Pherrell and will be released in September.

Some people are comparing "I Kissed A Girl" from her One of the Boys album, to Kelly Clarkson's "Since You've Been Gone". She's definitely easier to look at. Music is going through another twist and turn, the indie's are out and pop is back, so she just may have a big hit on her hands this summer.

Amy Winehouse has been asked to play the gala opening of an art gallery on Thursday, run by Daria Zhukova, the girlfriend of Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich. Hosting the party is socialite and former model Zhukova, who will be entertaining 300 guests.

In preparation for the event, workers are painting concrete walls in the old bus shelter that will soon be the new art gallery.

Let's hope she shows up!

Amy's rep told Us Magazine, March 3 that, "Amy has been diagnosed with impetigo, which she's been told can be highly contagious, because of that, she's been put on antibiotics and may have to stay home alone for the next few days."

Our favorite band of SXSW, fun and energetic.. The Ting Tings.

We'll be doing a lot SXSW posts because it's always such a good time. There are so many bands and shows that we saw, we must give cred.

The Ting Tings are cool because they only started in 2006 as a party band. She, Katie White, had a pop bubblegum thing going and Jules Katie White and Jules De Martino a very dark, serious production. The two put their styles together discovered through their mutual respect for Portishead and came up with The Ting Tings sound.

Why?

Britney and Heidi Montag duet on a new song called "Dramatic". Obviously it sucks, but I can't express to the degree that it sucks. You must experience it for yourself.

The song was played On Air with Ryan Seacrest KIIS-FM radio show this morning. The two songbirds are saying that they didn't record this song together. Heidi did do a demo with a male vocalist, but doesn't even know Britney Spears. How ever this happened, it's just ugly.

I warn you, it's bad.
