The newly sober Cat Power did the "Amanda shuffle" on Leno last night during her performance of "New York, New York" from the Jukebox album. She stealing my thunder with the foot shuffle, but twas good to see Chan nonetheless.
We are loving this album. My favorite being "New York, New York", then "Ramblin' (Wo)man."
We're looking forward to seeing her live.

Cat Power releases her latest LP, Jukebox today.
As previously reported, Jukebox again finds Chan Marshall culling an album’s worth of material almost entirely comprised of covers — all reinterpreted Cat Power style. Here is the tracklisting, for the bonus disc, that is part of the limited-edition, silver foil deluxe package, of the release. No word yet if the discarded tracks, listed in the original Matador press release, from the Jukebox sessions, will be released as B-sides, etc.
1. I Feel (Hot Boys)
2. Naked, If I Want To (Moby Grape)
3. Breathless (Nick Cave)
4. Angelitos Negros (Roberta Flack)
5. She’s Got You (Patsy Cline)
Guest appearances: Spooner Oldham (Neil Young, Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan), Larry McDonald (Toots & The Maytals, Taj Mahal), Teenie Hodges (Al Green, Memphis Rhythm Band), and Matt Sweeney (Chavez, Will Oldham).

One of our favs, Chan Marshall a.k.a. CAT POWER is in India meeting with humanitarian aid groups in effort to help provide clean water and sanitation to the country.
She's on a the mission to raise awareness with Scott Harrison the founder of the charity: Water. Cat Power said she planned to "visit a few hospitals with no water and then gonna dig a well for a few schools and just do basic traveling to 'find' new places for wells."
Good girl.

Cat Power has another album coming out January 22, on Matador. She really got around on this one; it was recorded in Dallas, New York and Miami and it's another all covers record, like her 2000 release of The Covers Record (that had a very ugly cover).
There are 10 (covers) tracks, a new version of "Metal Heart" and "Song To Bobby" and much more palatable album art this time around.
1 Theme From "New York, New York" (Frank Sinatra)
2 "Metal Heart" (Cat Power)
3 "Ramblin’ (Wo)man" (Hank Williams)
4 "Song To Bobby" (Cat Power)
5 "Aretha, Sing One For Me" (George Jackson)
6 "Lost Someone" (James Brown)
7 "I Believe In You" (Bob Dylan)
8 "Fortunate Son" (Creedence Clearwater Revival)
9 "Silver Stallion" (Lee Clayton)
10 "Dark End Of The Street" (Dan Penn & Chips Morman; originally sung by James Carr)
11 "Don’t Explain" (Billie Holiday)
12 "Woman Left Lonely" (Janis Joplin)
