Dawn Wells, who played Mary Ann on "Gilligan's Island," is serving six months' unsupervised probation after allegedly being caught with marijuana in her car.
She was sentenced Feb. 29 to five days in jail, fined $410.50 and placed on probation after pleading guilty to one count of reckless driving.
Under a plea agreement, three misdemeanor counts — driving under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance — were dropped.
On Oct. 18, Teton County sheriff's Deputy Joseph Gutierrez arrested Wells as she was driving home from a surprise birthday party that was held for her. According to the sheriff's office report, Gutierrez pulled Wells over after noticing her swerve and repeatedly speed up and slow down. When Gutierrez asked about a marijuana smell, Wells said she'd just given a ride to three hitchhikers and had dropped them off when they began smoking something. Gutierrez found half-smoked joints and two small cases used to store marijuana.
The 69-year-old Wells, founder of the Idaho Film and Television Institute and organizer of the region's annual family movie festival called the Spud Fest, then failed a sobriety test.
Wells' lawyer, Ron Swafford, said that a friend of Wells' testified that he'd left a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle after using it that day, and that Wells was unaware of it. Swafford also said several witnesses were prepared to testify that Wells had very little to drink at the party and was not intoxicated when she left. He said she was swerving on the road because she was trying to find the heater controls in her new car.

The freak mother that disciplined her little daughter with power water hose is busted.
Authorities have arrested a mother who was videotaped spraying her young daughter with a high-pressure water hose at a Florida car wash, the Associated Press reported.
Deputies arrested Niurka Ramirez in Orlando on Friday on a child abuse charge.
Ramirez says she was trying to discipline her 2-year-old daughter for throwing a temper tantrum.
A nurse reported the girl had no visible injuries 11 days after the incident.
Ramirez was released from jail early Saturday on $1,000 bail. Jail records do not list an attorney.
She told authorities she did not use the high-pressure feature on the hose when spraying the child.

I love the collection of mugshots that Hollywood is providing this year. It's been a good year for DUI's, hopefully she's the last one of the year. Mischa was arrested late Wednesday night in Hollywood for allegedly driving under the influence, possession of illegal narcotics (marijuana) and driving without a valid license.
Mischa was arrested and handcuffed after she was pulled over while driving her white Range Rover in West Hollywood at about 2.45am.
The LA County Sheriff’s Department revealed she was seen “straddling two lanes of traffic and failed to signal when making a turn”.
Police say officers “determined that she was an unlicensed driver and was driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage”.
Mischa was held in police custody for seven hours on $10,000 bail, until she was finally released.
Her Irish mother came to retrieve her, who doesn't appear to have the same gleeful sympathy for her daughter as say Kathy Hilton. It looks like Mischa may be in for some trouble when she gets home.

"Her arrest was completed without incident," Deputy Hugo Macias of the L.A. County Sheriff Department tells OK!. "She was very cooperative."

It's going to get interesting!
Nick turned himself in on Wednesday on the charge of reckless driving involving serious bodily injury, in which he will be tried as an adult, although he's 17. Nick and friend John Graziano, 22, crashed into a 25 ft. palm tree off the FL. highway. Nick was released from the hospital next day, but John Graziano, remains in critical condition.
The Hogan family is saddened that Nick is being booked on criminal charges related to his Aug. 26 car crash. His attorneys tell PEOPLE, "We are confident the evidence will demonstrate that this was an accident."
Accident, indeed, but Nick's going down for this one.
Yikes.
